Day Trip to Bear Lake

We went with some friends up to Bear Lake this weekend to go swimming and had a blast! Chip and Lindsey are our neighbors and they have 2 kids, EmmaLee (4) and Elijah (10 months). We decided to run to Bear Lake to catch a little sun and play on the beach. No boats involved (only time I have gone to Bear Lake and not gone skiing). Yes, it was sad but true, our boat remained parked at the house while we had fun in the sun!! It was gorgeous as always up at Bear Lake. There were shells everywhere and Jaycee loved to try to collect them all in her bucket and dump them back out at the water's edge.

Mitch came up with a floating device to play with (twin air mattress) that the kids absolutely loved to float on. Yes, a tube would have worked just the same, but just didn't quite have the same effect. Ha, Ha.

Jaycee and Mitch had a great time throwing a rock in the water and making it splash. Mostly, it was Mitch playing fetch (yes I said fetch) with our daughter to keep her entertained because she was starting to get cranky with it being so close to nap time.

Jaycee kept saying that she had a "stinky" diaper, so I pulled of the sandy swimsuit and swim diaper to find there was nothing. Now that she knows what "stinky" means, she thinks it is great fun to tell us she is stinky and point to her bum and then have us chase her down to change her. Anyways, false alarm, but there was no way she was going to sit still long enough for me to put the wet and sandy diaper and swim suit back on her, so she went nude for a little while. She would prefer this any day of the week, but I thought it made for a cute picture.

Well, we left very happy and very tired after our day at the beach. The kids all slept the whole way home and the parents wished that they could. Of course, the kids all woke up right as we pulled into the house and were ready for something fun and exciting to do, but all us old folks wanted was a nap!

ULTRASOUND

Well, things have a been a little crazy around here with summer coming to a close, but we had a very exciting doctor's appointment on 8/20. We are very excited to announce that we will be having another baby GIRL in January. Everything looks great with the baby and I can hardly wait to start putting the nursery together for her. We have already decided that her name will be, Jordyn Paige Johnson! We can hardly wait for her to get here and Jaycee is already practicing being a big sister with a baby doll that she totes around upside down
and tries to give a bath with washcloths. Anyway, her are some of the pictures from our ultrasound!!!

Hiking Near Bountiful Peak

We took a beautiful hike up near the Bountiful peak yesterday. It was absolutely gorgeous. We went up and around the ponds between Farmington and Bountiful. Jaycee loved playing in the muddy water and picking the wildflowers. Mitch found a huge tree that had fallen down and of course, he had to climb to the top. It made for a good picture though. Jaycee thought it was the greatest being up high! Like father like daughter!!!

I had to post these pictures of Jaycee's first hiking trip with her dad this last fall. She took a nose dive in the dirt. She was a good sport though, she got up and was ready for more.
